Who Are We?

While we've yet to have a zookeeper join us, SBOA members own businesses that run the gamut from A to almost Z: artists, attorneys, accountants, beauticians, bed and breakfast operators, realtors, financial planners, horseback riding instructors, shop owners, restaurant operators, home-party planners, organizers, specialty products salespeople, interior designers, insurance agents, and more. We are home-based, micro- and small business owners working to help one another improve our businesses. What does the SBOA organization do?

We provide and promote opportunities for marketing, networking and education for home-based, micro- and small business owners. Visit the LinkedIn SBOA NKY Group's Web page for some examples. Watch the YouTube-based video that described our October 2009 SBOA Showcase event.

When and where does the SBOA meet?

Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month at the Boone County Extension Office (6028 Camp Ernst Road, Burlington, KY 41005. View MAP for directions). Informal networking starts at 8:20 a.m. Monthly meetings begin at 8:30 a.m. Each month an educational speaker provides information useful for home-based, micro- and small business owners.

NOTE: It is the policy of the Small Business Owners Association of Northern Kentucky to cancel its meetings if the Boone County (Kentucky) Public Schools are either closed OR delayed in opening because of inclement weather. We want our members to be safe!!

Dear Fellow Business Owner,

Thank you for visiting the Small Business Owners Association of Northern Kentucky’s Web site. We offer so much more than we can express here, and I invite you to join us at our next meeting.

The SBOA celebrates our 8th anniversary in 2010. With each year, we help more and more businesses grow and succeed with our education and business development opportunities. All of our events provide an atmosphere where we can network and market our businesses to one another. We are proud to offer timely and topical information to small businesses in a forum that is inviting and welcoming. Our members are eager to help each other and to contribute to the well-being of our economic community.
